As Disney Theatrical welcomes new cast members to the London production of its most successful property – The Lion King, they’re spending some quality time with the new members of the cast and learning what drives them and what it takes to perform at the high level required to do justice to the show.
In this first video Janique Charles, who plays Nala in the London production, reflects upon the process of embracing the courageous and strong character:
I really enjoyed this video that follows cast member Owen Chaponda through rehearsals for the London production of The Lion King. Chaponda talks about the strength and support that the company offers each other both on and off stage.
Similarly here’s a video that follows London cast member dancer Rutendo Mushonga. She explains that it takes fitness and tenacity to master the show’s challenging choreography – and portray the power and strength of a lioness.
11 new cast members joined in May and many are being profiled on the YouTube channel for Disney Theatrical.
The London production has been extended until October 1, 2017. So get yourself to the West End if you haven’t already.
If you are planning to go see The Lion King, but can’t get ticket ahead of time, remember that there are a limited number of seats available the day of for £25. But you have to line up in the morning to buy them.
