Disney has shared our first look at some of the merchandise coming to Pandora – The World of Avatar. They’ve involved Disney artists, Imagineers, and event production artists from the Avatar movies to help design this stunning and well-themed merchandise. I know we’re going to be seeing a lot of this around Disney’s Animal Kingdom soon.
The main merchandise location is called Windtraders. Among the items available will be designs based on the bio-luminescent forest you see on the Na’vi River Journey boat ride or might find in the Valley of of Mo’ara, where caves will lead to the Flight of Passage attraction.
Imagineer Joe Rohde made some cave painting art for the attraction and it has found its way onto some classy merchandise.
There is also a line of merchandise that focuses on the Shaman of Songs from the Na’vi River Journey attraction.
Disney worked with artist Daphne Yap, a member of the “Avatar” film production team, to create digital renderings of Na’vi weavings and Banshe totems for another set of souvenirs.
Finally, there is a group of items that tie into the Alpha Centauri Expedition story that has guests on an ‘eco-tour’ of the Pandoran natural environments. You’ll find passports, stickers, buttons, hats, bags, and more.
If you’re in the park on opening day, May 27th, you’ll also find some unique opening day merchandise.
Do any of these great merchandise sets inspire you to head straight to Windtraders on your first visit to Pandora – The World of Avatar?
