SeaWorld Orlando has a brand new food event happening right now until May 14th called the Seven Seas Food Festival. Combining past events Bands, Brew, and BBQ, and Viva La Musicia into a festival that spans the edges of the world. There are 11 new culinary marketplaces for guests to enjoy, including Asian, European, and even the ones we got to sample during the event, Latin flavors.
Chef Hector Colon has created a new marketplace for a limited time, Cocina Criolla. Items on the menu include Lechón Asado, roasted pork with Caribbean seasonings; Pincho de Cerdo con Tostones, flame grilled pork with fried plantains; and my personal favorite, Churrasco, Skirt Steak marinated in house made Chimichurri sauce and grilled. Although we got samples of most dishes on the menu, I could have had that particular one three times. It was an explosion of flavors and the steak was cooked perfectly, something I would not have expected for grilling such a large quantity.
Besides the delicious food, there will also be concerts every Saturday during the festival highlighting rock, Spanish, and country groups, which is included with the price of a ticket.
