We’re getting our first look at the all-new comedy adventure series “DuckTales” premiering this summer on Disney XD. It’s a revival of the ’80s-’90s era cartoon and I think it’s safe to say that something good is happening here. The series stars David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively; Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack; Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley, and will follow the epic family of ducks on their high-flying adventures around the world.
Watch the trailer here, and know that the early screenings of the show are getting such great marks that DisneyXD has already renewed the series for a second season:
Nice. Looks like they’ve successfully updated the concept if you ask me. David Tennant’s Scottish brogue is close enough the the original that I don’t think anyone will mind. The nephews sound very different, but I think I’ll adjust. Donald Duck is Donald Duck, so that’s perfect. The trailer kicks into high gear when we get a glimpse of some of the adventures the crew will go on.
DuckTakes is a very popular show with a certain generation, most of whom have children of their own now. It sounds like Disney is pitching this show to be watched as a family, which we will probably do. How about you?
