If you’re looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, you might want to stop by the Burbank headquarters of the Walt Disney Studios. After zooming past the mark for their best year ever at the box office, with the help of the magical Doctor Strange, Disney has soared beyond the $6 Billion mark.
This is the first time Disney has ever reached that milestone. It’s now over $6.07B and with almost eight weeks left in the year, expect that number to go a lot higher (thanks to Moana and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).
Disney is the 2nd studio to gross more than $6B at the box office after Universal accomplished the feat in 2015 ending with $6.89B. Keep an eye on Disney’s totals to see if they can surpass even that total.
For those paying close attention, Pixar’s Finding Dory just swam past Zootopia to become the 2nd highest grossing film of 2016 and the 4th highest animated movie of all time.
