We’ve been tracking progress of construction at Disney Springs since they first broke ground. It’s been an exciting couple of years, but the end is near. One of the last projects to be completed is the update to the Planet Hollywood concept. It will be reborn as Planet Hollywood Observatory with major changes inside and out.
The building will be transformed into a turn-of-the-20th-century observatory that has found new life in the revised Disney Springs. Inside will be some of the world famous movie memorabilia Planet Hollywood is known for, plus huge video screens playing screens from your your favorite films and more.
A new piece of concept art for the refurbishment gives us a look at what will be known as “Stargazer Lounge” a new exterior cocktail bar that will feature drinks named after the planets and space travel. This will include:
- The Observatory – A sweet cocktail made with Stoli vodka, tangy Limoncino Bottega, Monin Peach Tea and an infusion of bubbles from Maschio Prosecco.
- Sparkling Sputnick – This bubbly beverage combines prosecco, sparkling water, fresh lime juice and fragrant mint leaves.
Both sound perfectly refreshing.
I keep hearing that that the opening date for Planet Hollywood Observatory is later this year. But I’d be surprised if they were open before late January of 2017.
