There was a rumor going around last year that part of the reason Star Wars Weekends was canceled is that Lucasfilm finally prevailed on Disney to keep the two iconic brands separated. No more Jedi Mickey or Darth Goofy. While it’s true those characters costume variations are no longer doing meet and greets in the parks, I have seen those mashup dolls and t-shirts for sale in the parks. However, I think we just found the ultimate mashup – Star Wars movie posters and Disneyland attraction posters.
These t-shirts have a wonderful retro vibe. But look closer and you will notice that it’s not your father’s attraction poster, these have been mashed up with movie posters from the original Star Wars saga. It’s a terrific idea.
We have the Haunted Mansion / Return of the Jedi, Jungle Cruise / The Empire Strikes Back, Storybook Canal Boats / The Empire Strikes Back, and Autopia / A New Hope. I hope Disney continues making creative mashups like these.
I found these at the Emporium on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom, but they’re flying off the shelves. So if you see them and want one, be sure to buy it then.
