Flights of Wonder at Disney’s Animal Kingdom reopening delayed for new roof installation

The refurbishment of Flights of Wonder at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will take a bit longer. The popular bird show closed for remodeling on January 25th and was originally intended to reopen on March 18th. However the construction has taken longer than expected and they’re still waiting on the installation of a new permanent roof.

Flights of Wonder takes place in the shady ruins of the Caravan Stage. An informative and entertaining bird trainer takes you through encounters with at least 20 species of exotic birds as they display fascinating natural behaviors.

Some of the birds you might encounter include:

  • Blue and Gold Macaws
  • Trumpeter Hornbill
  • African Grey Parrot
  • Rose-Breasted Cockatoo
  • Great Horned Owl
  • Red-Legged Seriema
  • Harris Hawk
  • East African Crowned Crane

The current scheduled reopening is April 18th, but keep an eye on your My Disney Experience app to see if it is scheduled for an earlier opening as a fee un-scheduled soft openings have already been reported.

  1. We were just there today and they were open. It was a soft opening with no announcements. It’s the same show. The roof looked like it was done to me.
