SDCC15: Marvel to Represent at San Diego Comic Con with TV, Game and Comic Panels

Marvel Entertainment is forgoing their normally huge movie panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con in favor of spotlighting its TV, game, and comic offerings this year.

Both Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter will be showcased in “Marvel Television Presents” on Friday, July 10 at 3pm. Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s head of television) will offer exclusive news and surprises on the panel that will feature the casts and showrunners for each show.

Marvel will also host signing events for both casts at their booth (#2329). The cast of Marvel’s Agent Carter, including Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy will be at the booth Saturday, July 11, at 10am. The cast of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., including Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Brett Dalton, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, along with EP’s Maurissa Tancharoen, Jed Whedon, and Jeph Loeb, will appear at 2:30pm on Saturday, July 11.

Marvel’s chief creative officer Joe Quesada will host “Marvel: Cup O’Joe” on Saturday, July 11, at 2:45pm. Also featuring editor-in-chief Axel Alonso, executive editor Tom Brevoort, and talent scout C. B. Cebulski, as well as writers Charles Soule (Lando), Cullen Bunn (Moon Knight), Kieron Gillen (Darth Vader), Mark Waid (Daredevil), and more, the panel is an open Q&A about everything Marvel.

While it’s not technically a Marvel panel, Joss Whedon will be hosting a Dark Horse comics panel that will most likely feature a Q&A portion where you can ask him about his future plans. The panel is at 4:45pm on Saturday, July 11.

Marvel Animations Presents” will take place Saturday, July 11, at 10:30am, and will feature Stephen Wacker (VP, current series Marvel Animation Studios), Cort Lane (VP, animation development and partnerships), and Eric Radomski (SVP, production and creative director, animation) for exclusive first looks at the exciting new seasons of the hit animated series Marvel’s Avengers: Ultron Revolution and Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6.

The panel will also include the world premiere of never-before-seen footage from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, coming to Disney XD this year.

Gamers will want to check out “Marvel Heroes 2015: More Amazing, Incredible, and Invincible Than Ever!,” on Friday, July 10, at 6pm. Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play multiplayer online action role-playing video game developed by Gazillion Entertainment and Secret Identity Studios.

Also for gamers, the “LEGO Marvel’s Avengers: From Silver Screen to Videogame Console” panel will feature Arthur Parsons (Game Director, TT Games), Matt Ellison (Producer, TT Games), Mike Jones (Executive Producer, Marvel Games), Bill Rosemann (Creative Director, Marvel Games), and a special guest Stan Lee as they present an inside look at LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, the first console videogame featuring characters and storylines from the critically-acclaimed films, all combined with a splash of classic LEGO humor. The panel takes place Saturday, July 11 at 4:15pm.

For toy collectors, the “Hasbro: Marvel” panel will feature Adam Biehl (VP, Global Marvel Line, Hasbro), Jesse Falcon (director of Hardlines, Marvel), Dwight Stall (senior Marvel product design manager, Hasbro), Bobby Vala (Marvel product designer, Hasbro), Maalvika Mantripragada (director, Marvel Brands, Hasbro) and Michael Breslin (senior director, Global Marvel Fan Line, Hasbro) discussing Hasbro’s popular Marvel LEGENDS action figure lines. Attendees will also get a sneak peek of upcoming Marvel action figures. The panel takes place Saturday, July 11, at 4pm.

On the comics side, there will be a panel on the popular Disney Kingdoms imprint by Marvel on Thursday, July 9 at 10am. “Marvel: Uncanny Inhumans” will also have a panel on Thursday, July 9 at 4:30pm.

Marvel: Women of Marvel” will feature content development director Sana Amanat, producer Judy Stephens, and other Marvel guests discussing what it’s like working as a woman in comics today and what it means for the future of the industry. The panel is on Sunday, July 12, at 11:15am.

Marvel: All-New All-Different Avengers” will feature executive editor Tom Brevoort, director of content and character development Sana Amanat, and writers Marguerite Bennett (A-Force), Mark Waid (Daredevil), and Nick Spencer (Ant-Man) talking about what’s new with The Avengers, Friday, July 10 at 12:45pm. Also on Friday, “Marvel: Secret Wars” will have a panel at 10am.

Spidey fans will want to check out “Marvel: Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends,” happening Sunday, July 12, at 12:30pm. Hear announcements from editors and creators about new Spider-Man family titles, as well as some exciting news on Marvel’s street-level characters. Special guests include editor-in-chief Axel Alonso, editor Wil Moss, and writer Chip Zdarsky.

And if you’ve ever thought about working for Marvel Comics, the “Marvel: Breaking Into Comics the Marvel Way” on Thursday, July 9 at 1pm may be for you. Join Marvel talent scout C. B. Cebulski and a host of Marvel talent including Kris Anka (Uncanny X-Men) to find out the answers on how to get your foot in the door and make your job Marvel.

Spotlight on Jim Steranko” will feature the co-creator of S.H.I.E.L.D. discussing Nick Fury’s 50th anniversary in a Q&A session moderated by J. David Spurlock (Vanguard author, publisher). The panel takes place Saturday, July 11, at 3pm.

Finally, the man himself, the legendary Stan Lee will have a spotlight panel on Saturday, July 11, at 1:45pm. He’ll discuss his career and future projects, then do a Q&A panel with the audience.
