With a posting on Instagram, the wrestler turned actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson informed the world he’d be joining the cast of Disney’s upcoming animated feature – Moana. If you recall, Moana is a musical and Johnson apparently will be singing:

“Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world. I’m excited. And in the background my homies Fred & Wasabi from #BigHERO6 are jumpin’ for joy joy cause they heard I’m gonna sing in the movie.”

Johnson is expected to voice the male lead, the legendary demi-god ‘Maui’, in Moana. Maui plays a key role in aiding the Polynesian Princess Moana on her nautical adventure.

Previously, Johnson has joined Disney on movies “Race to Witch Mountain” and “The Game Plan.”

Are you looking forward to Disney’s Moana more or less after this news?

  1. Love Dwayne Johnson and having him in it does elevate the want to see even though I would watch anything Disney. Love Disney, love Dwayne.
