It’s a big week for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It just passed $300 million at the domestic box office, the first film to do so this year, and $600 million at the international box office. It’s a sky-high results to be sure! But don’t worry, the film’s Star Lord will be returning to Earth when actor Chris Pratt opens the 40th Season of “Saturday Night Live” on NBC.
As if having the #1 movie of the summer wasn’t enough, Pratt will be front and center when the new season of SNL premieres on September 27, 2014. The musical guest will be pop sensation Ariana Grande and her sky-high ponytail.
The long-running late-night comedy show made the announcement via their twitter:
Very excited to announce our season premiere on Sept 27th will be hosted by Chris @prattprattpratt with music from @ArianaGrande!! #SNL40

To which Pratt replied:
Hosting SNL! That was high on the bucket list! Right up there with hunting human. Hey @bibbymoynihan Are you a fast runner?

@bibbymoynihan is SNL’s Bobby Moynihan, so it’ll be interesting to see what sketch these two come up with.
I for one am really hoping for an intergalactic dance-off. How about you?
