Some of the very first people to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in New Fantasyland were paid actors filming a commercial spot. I think it’s safe to say we were all a bit jealous. The commercial is now online to see just a few days ahead of the official May 28th opening. Days of work went into this 30-second spot:
I don’t understand the sunglasses thing. It’s definitely out of character for the dwarfs. I’m also not sure that unique nature of the attraction (the swaying and 360 degree viewing opportunities) was communicated very well.
On the other hand, the attraction was open for cast members yesterday and they let a few guests on to preview the roller coaster too. The general feedback is good, which will help build strong word of mouth for the ride. I fully expect the coaster to continue to soft open between now and May 28th, including during the #rockyourdisneyside 24hr day. Should be a real party atmosphere up there in New Fantasyland.
How do you think they did?
I think the commercial is embarrassing. It smacks of “grown ups trying to be cool.”
Commercial is cute!! Makes me jealous I won’t be there until December!
