Between the family’s annual trips to Disneyland, I used to listen to my official Disneyland album over and over again. If closed my eyes, it was almost like I was there. That’s the transporting magic of Disney parks music.
It seems like its been forever since Disney last released an official album for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In 2005 there was a CD celebrating Disneyland’s 50th anniversary. And there was my favorite park’s CD issued for the Millennium celebration.
The good news is that Disney Parks has just announced that two new 2-CD sets will be released in the parks on August 20 with both Disneyland and Walt Disney World getting their own official albums (although to be fair, WDW should get four CDs). I know I’ll be adding these to my collection.

Do you have a favorite theme parks song? Is there anything you feel is missing from the play list?
I keep saying I need a copy of Grim Grinning Ghosts. I may have to check these discs out when I’m in Downtown Disney in a month.
Of course, all this will do is make me want to go, and since my pass has expired, I can’t just pop down whenever I want any more.
If you want Grim Grinning Ghosts, it is available in many places on iTunes to get it on it’s own. Hope this helps!
“Go With The Flow” From Finding Nemo:The Musical
Wishes!!!!!
“Magical” at Disneyland.
I would like to see the music from Fantasia added to the albums.
Energy Adventure Medley is my favorite piece of parks music ever. Gorgeous and it makes that attraction fantastic.
I love all those choices, but one thing they should think about adding is the Great Movie Ride music (either the Chuck Workman-style montage at the end, or the version of “Hooray for Hollywood” at the beginning of the ride). And also, “Go with the Flow” or “Big Blue World” from Finding Nemo: The Musical.
I’d LOVE to get copies of ALL of the waiting line music from the Car’s land racers and throughout Cars land. My Wife and I purchased the “Official” Cars land CD when down there, early this year, but the contents are short of the land’s grouping of great music and sounds.
It does seem like forever since Disneyland and WDW have released Official Albums. In the 2000s, Disneyland had releases of either 1-disc or 1 and 2-disc CDs for 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, and now 2013. I don’t know about 2002 through 2004, 2007, or 2009 through 2012, though I think not because I’ve never yet seen anything online for those years. I bought the 2005 and 2008 2-disc sets for $25 each when I was at the parks, deciding against the 1-disc sets that were also on sale at park stores.
WDW has seen more output, but there are gaps as well. Prior to 2000 there isn’t much. I know of the combo DL/WDW Official Album for 1988, a 1991 re-release of 1988’s CD, then a jump to 1997 for another DL/WDW combo CD. WDW had a CD each year for 1998 through 2006, then another in 2008, and now 2013. I don’t know about 2007 or 2009 through 2012. I can’t, so far, find anything online for those years.
I hope this little bit of information may prove helpful for some of you out there. If you’re looking for missing CDs in your collections, then good luck in the hunt!
