Are you ready for the first Star Wars Weekends with Disney as the owner of Lucasfilm? Dates for 2013 event were just announced as every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from May 17 – June 9, 2013.
Returning as hosts of the event are James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein. James will be the Official Celebrity Host of Star Wars Weekends 2013, and Ashley will host Behind the Force,” a live show that takes fans behind-the-scenes in the Star Wars universe.
With today’s announcement Disney appears to be listening to its fans. They announced the dates for the 2013 Star Wars Weekends more than a month earlier than last year. This allows guests to book their travel and hotel rooms ASAP. Now all we need is the full list of celebrity guests.
I wouldn’t expect too much from the Disney-Lucasfilm hookup. It closed too soon for any of the merchandising orders to be significantly altered. But it might be a good time to start dreaming about what future Star Wars Weekends will involve.
Also, I’m curious as to if Hyperspace Hoopla will return. Last year we heard rumors that the show would be gone or completely reworked. What is your favorite part of Star Wars Weekends? Or do you just avoid Disney’s Hollywood Studios during those four weekends.
I am coming to Los Angeles in May from Australia with 3 kids who are Star Wars nuts. We intend on visiting Disneyland over the weekend of 24th May and was wondering what would be the best tickets to buy? Can you advise on the best option please
Star Wars Weekends is in Orlando not Los Angeles. You’ll have a good time at Disneyland on Star Tours, but it’s not Star Wars Weekends.
