The 2012 International Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT officially opens tomorrow, however, the food booths are open today as a soft opening. It will run for 46 days until November 16th and is one of the most popular food festivals in the world.
Chefs were spotted in the park earlier this week getting some last minute orientation (you never know when a guest will need to know the nearest restroom or the baby care center). Everyone is using at least a two-finger point… very good.
The 2012 festival is the 17th version of the popular event. It will have many of the old favorites and introduce some that are sure to be new favorites. These include a new chocolate tasting experience, Fresh From Florida local flavors, and the first marketplace with vegan cuisine, TERRA. The festival also introduces its first Watermelon Patch and brings back for a second year the popular “Discover the Cranberry” Bog experience and weekend HGTV celebrity home-design seminars. There’s also a new Marketplace VIP Access Chef Tour geared toward the foodie who wants the inside culinary scoop.
Disney has uploaded a pair of videos highlighting some of the other new food & drinks you’ll be able to enjoy.
I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to sip and sample my way around the World Showcase. Are you planning a visit this year?
We will be there many times, but will be staying for an adults only weekend 10/12-14.
