Disney World Walkabout – Merchandise

For the last few weeks, I’ve been collecting photos of interesting merchandise I’ve seen while out walking in Walt Disney World resort. Now it’s time to share:

For those who may recall, when D-Street opened in Downtown Disney’s westside, we were promised Mickey Vinylmation Ice Cube Trays. Well they’ll be available starting Dec 3rd.

A wide selection of TRON themed clothing is available. Mostly from the Hurley brand.

Disney recently restocked with a new collection of Bloc28 T-shirts. These are designed by street artists. I really like this one, of course, it was the only one they were out of stock on.

Lots more below the jump:

Of course, not everything was a home run. For instance, this tee that reads “What time is the 3:00 parade?” It might just be me, but I don’t think that making fun of your customers is a good business strategy.

On the other hand, combining Apple products and Disney is always good.

Even better are products like these ‘paper beads’. The proceeds from the sale of these during the EPCOT holiday merchandise event goes to charity.

The beads are actually recycled bits of paper guidemaps, flyers, and other handouts that Disney would otherwise have to destroy.

Learn more at the BeadForLife.org website. Yeah, the URL on the poster is wrong.

Downtown Disney has been smelling a lot better since the Spice & Tea Exchange opened. I very much recommend stopping by to see what amazing scents and flavors they’ve discovered.

It’s taken over a huge area in Mickey’s Pantry.

Staying in Downtown Disney, we travel to the AMC 24. They’ve remodeled the concession area. It now features gourmet foods, serve yourself popcorn, candy, and soda, and express bank-style checkout.

These are ‘Freestyle’ coke dispensers. There really are 106 (if not more) choices. You choose a brand then get to choose from between 4 and 10 different flavors. Unfortunately, the drink sizes are HUGE! So buy one drink and then split it among friends.

They’ve also opened an actual bar inside the theater complex –  MacGuffins. A MacGuffin is a cinematic term for a plot element (often the actual item is not important) that drives the action of a film.

That’s it for today.

Of course, I recommend the LaughingPlace.com Store for all your Disney shopping needs. There’s still plenty of time to get your order placed and shipping in time for Christmas. Plus your purchase will support two great Disney fan websites.
