Disney has finally filled the new position created to unite the operation and maintenance sides of its transportation fleets. The new Vice President of Transportation at Walt Disney World will be Samuel Lau. Lau worked most recently at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which has a fleet significantly larger than Disney’s.
One item from Lau’s background that interested me was where he was the deputy director of operations for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority in San Jose, Ca. San Jose has a light rail system, something that’s rumored to be coming to Walt Disney World in the future.
