Southwest Airlines joins Disney’s Magical Express

Fans of the no frills and no fees airline Southwest will be happy to hear that they have finally joined the full level Disney’s Magical Express (DME). The service provides free transportation to and from the airport with luggage delivery right to the room for Walt Disney World Resort guests.

DME has been trying to add Southwest for five years. Southwest is the carrier that delivers the largest volume of tourists to Orlando International Airport. SouthWest guests have always been able to ride DME, but they had to tote their luggage themselves. If you already have booked a flight with Southwest, you can visit the DME website and register your luggage.

  1. We are members of the Vacation Club. Actually, WDW has always collected our luggage from Southwest and delivered it to our room.

What we haven’t been able to do is check our luggage at the resort and have it go to Southwest.

However – we are excited for the change.

  2. Ed is correct. This change is only for your departure. Glad to see it, as toting the bags up to the terminal was a hassle.

  3. If i am staying at the polenisian resort will my luggage be taken to my resort by bus then at the end of my stay, will I be able to recieve my plane boarding passes to go home while at the hotel. Also at the end of my trip will my luggage be taken and checked to be on the plane that I go home on?
