When you visit Walt Disney World Resort one of the many treats that Disney wants you to experience is their fine dining. They believe that if you enjoy your dining experience, you’ll be much more likely to return for another visit and to tell your friends about your visit. To make it memorable they go out of their way to attract the best chef and cooking talent to their restaurants. Iron Chef Cat Cora’s Kouzzina at the Boardwalk Resort is just the latest example of this trend.
So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Walt Disney World chefs Dee Foundoukis and George Paterakis took their culinary talents to the White House kitchen earlier this week and joined celebrity chef Cat Cora to cook a formal dinner for President Barack Obama, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and 400 honored guests. The masterful chefs prepared several tasty Greek dishes, many of which are favorites on the menu at Kouzzina by Cat Cora on Disney’s BoardWalk. The meal included Fishermen’s Stew – a savory bowl of scallops, lobster, shrimp and clams with ouzo butter – and loukoumades, Greek donuts served hot and drizzled with honey.
Good for them. That must have been the experience of a lifetime.
