The Orlando Sentinel is now quoting Walt Disney World officials confirming the cast member injured on Disney Animal Kingdom’s Primeval Whirl roller coaster died tonight as a result of her injuries. The article also identifies the cast member.
The woman, who was in her 60s, was a ride attendant on the Primeval
Whirl, a roller coaster type ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. She
stepped into a prohibited area on a platform and was hit by a moving
car.
The injury occurred over the weekend, but was not reported to the state until the worker took a turn for the worse. OSHA has been inspecting the attraction today and the Orange County Sheriffs are also investigating.
The last Cast Member death while on the job was when a parade
performer in the role of Pluto was run over by a parade float in
February 2004.
Our condolences to the Cast Member’s family and friends and all the
workers at Animal Kingdom for whom this must be terrible news.

Does this mean somebody has officially died at Disney World? Rumor is, nobody has ever died on property.
