Disney Legend and former Imagineer Ralph Kent has passed away. Kent had forty-one year career with the Walt Disney Company. His influence can be felt on many attractions including that were developed for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair and later moved to Florida to help open Walt Disney World.
One of the producs Kent was famous for designing was the first limited edition collectible Mickey Mouse watch in 1965. I just happen to have one of those that was given to me as an infant by my grandfather. I think he knew I would follow in his footsteps.
Lou Mongello of DisneyWorldTrivia.com met Kent and considered him a friend. Be sure to read Lou’s tribute to this giant of a man.
