See Photos of Pirates Premiere on LaughingPlace.com LIVE!

Doug from LaughingPlace.com has been sending back mobile phone pics live from the World Premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End at Disneyland today. He’s got great pics of the red carpet, signage, and bleachers! What are they doing with bleachers? Is this the Oscars now?

No sign of Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom, yet. See more throughout the day on LaughingPlace.com LIVE!

  1. I was at the park yesterday and didn’t realize they were having the premiere there until we got there. It really screwed up our day as we paid full price to get into the park and the premiere really affected things.
Does anyone know where/how I can file a complaint to Disney?

  2. Grant, you have to be kidding me! You want to file a complaint with Disney because you were one of a handful of people who didn’t realize that the premiere was happening then? Do you complain when a line up is too long, too?

Disneyland made every effort to inform its patrons and made alternative hours elsewhere to ease the inconvenience. From them: “Open Late Tonight Fantasyland; Main Street, U.S.A.; Mickey’s Toon Town, and Tomorrowland will remain open until approximately 8:00 p.m. For your enjoyment, Disney’s California Adventure Park will remain open until 11:00 p.m. Tonight!” Besides because of the overcrowding towards the front, many lineups were significantly shorter throughout Disneyland so you could’ve hit a few of the big ones and then headed off to DCA for a wonderful late night as many of us did!

Yikes, Disneyland cannot stop everything for one person who fails to look around at their surroundings or notice all the excitement over the last few days. Furthermore, it was a wonderful charity event as noted,”This evening, Disneyland Park will host the world premiere of Walt Disney Pictures’ Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. This gala celebration is also a fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help with their mission of making dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The evening is expected to raise $3 million, includion an initial donation of $1 million by the Walt Disney Company.”

    Double yikes!

  3. Well, I had a pretty bad experience yesterday, but without even knowing my story or what happened, you just assume that Disney could not have done any wrong. I never said I expected them to stop everything for one person, but a person should be allowed to make a complaint if they are unsatisfied. I’ll continue to research elsewhere in terms of where to send my complaint. Just so you know, it was my first time at Disneyland, and I was treated so poorly, and I think it will be my last. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.
I’m glad you enjoy Disney as much as you do, and I only wish I could share your excitement.

  4. Grant, while I don’t have the information at hand, you can find the appropriate contacts on Disney’s official site.

It’s too bad that such a stressful day at the park was your first visit. I recommend giving them another chance during a different season, winter being my personal favorite.

Personally, I think the Disneyland premiers have run their course and should Disney continue the franchise they should look to other locations outside of the parks to hold the events, charitable as they may be.

An aside, Disney gives tons of money to charities every year, the Pirates premier being but a small portion of that. While I applaud it, I don’t believe they should continue to misplace the larger portion of their patrons by holding events within the park during business hours.

If they do proceed with further premiers, they should consider offering a discounted ticket or some sort of voucher for a park meal, merchandise or souvenir marking the occasion.
