(Just a few blocks from the Disney lot, really.) When I lived in Burbank, I worked in this building for six years. You can see the fire is right across the street from it. Warner Brother Studios is directly behind where this photo was taken.
Amazingly enough it sounds like no major structures were lost and no lives were lost. That’s good. But it certainly was a close call for those major attractions. A big thanks to the firefighters who risked their lives to put down the flames.
The Orlando area is having a dry season of it’s own. Hopefully I won’t be repeating this story for the east coast anytime soon. (via Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood)
I was in Burbank that day of the fire. Visiting from Canada with tickets to see the Friday evening taping of ‘Two and A Half Men’. Ofcourse, by noon that day, they had cancelled the taping.
Really disappointed – freak of nature. Shame on the teens who caused the fire – could have destroyed studios belog and the beloved Univeral Studios!!
