Here’s another quirky story about ABCs hit TV show LOST. Apparently, canisters of film are still being sent back and forth to Burbank via commercial airline cargo shipping. I could have sworn they were shooting in digital HD. Some of these canisters were X-rayed by Airport TSA personnel despite big warning labels telling them not to. Oops. So now LOST gets to reshoot those scenes for the unnamed future episode. I guess that’s why you buy insurance.
I wonder how common of occurrence this is in the film industry. Kevin Spacey once had footage of his movie stolen from the Los Angeles Airport. You’d think there’s be a more secure way of doing this in the digital age.
