Following up again on this week’s big story, the Gatorland Fire.
Gatorland is working hard to get back on its feet even as I type this and that’s good news for Central Florida. Orlando needs the small family run and oriented road side attractions to balance out the large corporate ones. It’s just a different feeling you get when you’re walking over dozens of Alligators or watching mermaids dance beneath the sea.
A target date of November 22nd has been set for the park’s reopening. A pretty ambitious date considering the $3 million of damage done by the fire.
The cause has been determined to be a heating pad for one of the few snakes kept in the building full time. Totally accidental and very unfortunate.
