The 2006 Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney-MGM Studios really kicks it up a notch this year. Here’s a video from an early preview of the show. They have now synchronized the Christmas lights to music and it’s quite a show! I think I’ll have to amend my post from last year where I stated that this home display outdid the Osborne display. Disney now reclaims that title.

  1. The Disney display is nice, but it still doesn’t hold a candle to the showmanship of the Home Display. Disney’s display seems to smush all the lights together, not really letting them stand on their own or complementing the song. The Home Display guy really knows how to pace the release of his show elements. Breaking the song into acts and saving lights so there’s something new to release for each act. I’d not be surprised if he’s a coreagopher or producer in his day job.

  2. I have to agree with the last comment… I still think the home display is a much better show. This didn’t feel that well timed to me. Maybe it was the video speed, but it was off, i think. And like the the last commenter stated, he did a better job of introducing new items. When Disney can be outdone by a single person using his spare time, Disney needs to do some more imagineering…. Imagineer That!

  3. Does anyone know the music used for MGM Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights? Would really like to try and get hold of it if at all possible. Many thanks.
