Disney’s "The Prestige" debuted at number one in the box office this weekend with an estimated $14.8 million. The film is concerns the world of magicians and was made by "Batman Begins" Christopher Nolan. The film was no doubt helped by the presence of its stars Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale.
Disney’s Digital 3-D version of "Nightmare Before Christmas" also opened this weekend in 168 theatres and earned a very respectable $3.3 million. They say the 3-D process costs $10 million per film, so Disney probably needs to earn $20 million to earn that plus the marketing costs for the film.
NBC 3-D might make more money if they put it in more theaters.
