CNN.com and Reuters has a wrap up of all the issues that have plagued Hong Kong Disneyland recently. What’s odd about this story is that it seems to imply that HKDL is having long lines and huge crowds but is still having problems meeting it’s attendance goals. Which is it? Or could it be that there just isn’t enough capacity to entertain even the small numbers that show up. If so, that’s a big design flaw.

Didn’t we hear the same things about Euro Disney when it first opened?
The problem with DLP was actually a combination of too many hotel rooms for a park that was mostly a weekend destination. Overtime, and with the addition of a second gate, it has grown into a multi-day destination and the hotel rooms have been put to good use.
