Disney World BackStage Tours

A story in the Washington Post today features one reporters enjoyment of the many backstage tours that Disney offers at its Florida parks. That’s one Lucky Reporter.

If you go on a behind-the-scenes tour of Walt Disney World in the hopes
of catching one of those happy cast members with his smile down —
spitting on the break-room floor, maybe, or being mean to some kittens
— you’ll be disappointed. Disney’s Cult of Cheerfulness survives even
in the no-go zones.

Otherwise, this little-publicized series of backstage tours may offer
the most mind-blowing Disney experience you’ve had since your first
wide-eyed walk down Main Street.

I’ve been on most of these tours and also recommend them for even an intermediate Disney Theme Parks fan. But bring your walking shoes.

Is there a Disney*land* equivalent for these? After being herded out of Splash Mountain once after it brokedown I have longed to be able to go back behind the scenes of Disneyland again…

Any pointers to information about tours on the west coast?

Thanks for the link – it looks though like there is nothing similar at Disneyland (though the tour that let’s you see the club 33 lobby is tempting – I’m sure I would just end up frustrated though…so close, and still no Disneyland Martini…
