Looks like the Florida fires have been getting some national news coverage. Right now there has been remarkably little property damage and the loss of life, while tragic, has been small.
For those wondering the largest fires have been no where near the Walt Disney World resort. But if you’re planning on a side trip to the Space Coast or Cape Canaveral, plan on some major detours. A few smaller fires have cropped up closer to Disney, but they were contained before reaching more than 100 acres.
Dry season continues into June and then Hurricane season arrives. That should be a doozy too. Remind me again why I moved to Orlando.
The extreme dry season is a precursor to a very active and dangerous hurricane season. For the third year in a row, major hurricanes will make landfall on the U.S. coastline. Feel fortunate that you live in Orlando. People in Tampa won’t be so lucky.
