From the Archives: US Steel builds the Contemporary

The Internet Archive is hosting this video from circa 1971/72 that shows the US Steel propaganda effort in conjunction with their construction of the Contempoary Hotel at Walt Disney World. Look for the great furniture in the ‘drawer like’ rooms and the costume the hotel hostess is wearing. Pure polyester heaven. The video also starts… Read More »From the Archives: US Steel builds the Contemporary

Narnia: my review

C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were contemporaries who both wrote
seminal books for different markets. In turn each became the models for
much genre literature to come. I read all the books as a kid, Lord of
the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia. The Lord of the Rings series I
reread many times, became immersed in that world, and a fan of all
associated materials. But of The Chronicles only The Lion, The Witch,
and The Wardrobe really stuck with me. I just reread for the first time
since my youth and found it simple, pleasurable, with an engaging story.

My review continues below the cut along with a review of the new Narnia Walk-Through attraction at Disney-MGM Studios.
