One of the most popular activities at Walt Disney World is the character meet and greet. Guests line up to have pictures taken with their favorite characters and perhaps get an autograph. Character Dining makes it possible to cram meeting three or four characters and enjoy a meal at the same time. So it’s no surprise this activity is growing in popularity at the parks. The Indianapolis Star has a nice writeup on one reporters experience with some suggestions for your planning as well.
Btw, you used to be able to make a reservation for a Disney restaurant 90 days ahead. Well now that’s been extended to 180 for most locations. Six months, I don’t know about you, but I hardly know where I’m dining tonight, let alone what mood I’ll be in six months from now. I wish they had some sort of reservation plan for us locals and the guests who like to make travel arrangements at the last minute.

We do this every year for my daughter’s birthday. It is always very fun and the food is good. This year (in December) we’re going to the character breakfast at the Grand Floridian.
