Just got back from watching Nick Cage channel Elvis in his latest flick, National Treasure. It’s getting bad reviews from critics, but I think they’re missing the point of this film. It’s fun, it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and except for the too unplausible to believe beginning, it’s easy to lose yourself in. The audience I saw it with, in a sold out theatre by the way, was laughing along and having a good time.
So grab some popcorn on the way in and enjoy this film. Don’t let the low numbers at Metacritic and Rottentomatos scare you off.
I totally agree. I also saw National Treasure today and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a great mix of comedy and adventure, almost a funnier Indiana Jones kind of film. Both me and my friend came out afterwards saying, “That was a good time. I’m glad we saw it.”
