Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, part of the Timeshare Disney Vacation Club, was seriously swamped by Hurricane Frances and is now closed for repairs.
The time-share resort features a large main building that overlooks the beach, with less than a football field’s worth of vegetated dunes and sand separating it from the open sea where Frances came ashore. Smaller villas also dot the property near the water.
Other properties nearby reported shifting sands as much as 100 yards in from the beach, so Disney might be dealing with a massive cleanup effort here. Meanwhile guests have been relocated to Disney World Resorts or asked to reschedule. More details as they become available.
