Typhoon Lagoon remains closed. Unkown as to why. Many of the Golf Courses remain closed. Probably due to down trees and water hazards. Plus Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground remains closed due to debris cleanup taking a while.
Also mentioned was that The Electrical Water Pageant on the Seven Seas Lagoon will not be operational until Tuesday, August 17th. This concerns me as to the damage to those floats. I know they’re not typically stored away in a very safe place. So hopefully they’ll all be repaired to show ready condition.
Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island are open (with PI extending their one price club deal and not limiting access to the general areas). Some damage was done to the ‘sail’ area of the La Nouba Cirque De Soliel tent and to the Marquee and Box office of the AMC Theaters. Both, however, are currently running under normal operation hours.
Btw, if you’ve already donated to the Red Cross and are wondering what else you can do to help the victims of Hurricane Charley… how about booking a vacation to Central Florida. The taxes and fees from tourism will go a long way to rebuilding the infrastructure in the area. October and November are beautiful months in Orlando.
