Morimoto Asia, the new Disney Springs restaurant from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, is winning fans with its excellent blend of Asian fusion cuisine. But did you know it’s also winning awards for the space itself. Back in April it received top honors from the American Institute of Architects. This week Morimoto Asia is a winner in the 2016 New York Design Awards! The project is a Silver Winner in the Interior Design – Hospitality category

The restaurant’s design is a collaboration with STUDIO V Architecture and Patina Restaurant Group. Morimoto Asia’s design honors the industrial history of the pre-existing space, which was rebuilt with a contemporary twist. Morimoto Asia includes a multi-level bar, upper mezzanine and two levels of outdoor terraces. The restaurant’s winding 270-foot-long sculptural bar is one of the largest in the world. It connects the dining room on the ground floor with the upper level.
