Apple Pay coming to Walt Disney World December 24

ApplePay

Get your iPhone 6 configured for the most magical purchase experience on Earth. Walt Disney World will roll out support for Apple Pay at the resort beginning Christmas Eve. Apple Pay is a “contactless payment” service similar to Google Wallet that uses near-field communication (NFC) technology to complete the transaction.

The initial rollout will include purchases of admission media, merchandise, and quick-service food locations across the resort. Table-Service restaurants and Disney World operating partners will be included in a future expansion of the service.

To use the system for purchases, users will hold their Apple Pay devices near the MyMagic+ touch-to-pay reader. That same reader is used when paying with MagicBands.

Disneyland is expected to get Apple Pay in 2015.

But it wouldn’t be the first time Disney has forgotten about Android users. Having a seat on the board sure is paying off for Apple…
