Disney has decided to move up the release date for the upcoming 3-D re-release of Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. It is now coming out an entire month sooner and returning to theaters smack in the middle of the 2012 holiday season on December 21st. While there are some major movies that will also be in theaters at that time (including The Hobbit, Les Miserables, Django Unchained and Jack Reacher) Disney must feel there is a family audience that remains untapped during the Christmas holiday.
