Finally, the Orlando Food Truck craze comes to Disney World. Well, not quite but practically there. A “Food Pod” (a group of 6 to 8 trucks) will be parking just a few miles north of Walt Disney World along Apoka Vineland at the Jewish Community Center. This is the group of trucks (Big Wheel Truck, Treehouse Truck, The Crooked Spoon, Korean BBQ Taco Box, Winter Park Fish Co, and the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck) that helped bring the foodie trend to Orlando and it’s great to see them south of Downtown for once.
The TheDailyCity.com Food Truck Pod starts Wednesday August 31st at 4:30pm (until the food sells out or 9pm-ish) and looks to be a weekly reoccurring event. This should make a fun place for locals, Disney fans, and those staying in the Dr. Phillips area to gather and get some great grub while still being able to dash back to the magic envelope for further night time entertainment.
From Downtown Disney, head out to the 535 and turn left. But then instead of turning left again onto the 535, go straight onto 435 (aka Apoka Vineland) and the JCC is about a half mile ahead on your left.
More details at The Daily City blog.
Yay! Maybe I will finally get to try them!
You definitely need to get out there and sample a few. Best to order something from each truck and then share among group.
