Kenneth Mars, Voice of Triton, dead at age 74

You are probably a fan of Kenneth Mars and you don’t even realize it. If you are a fan of Mel Brooks then you knew him has the crazy Nazi playwright in The Producers. He was Marshal Woolly Bill Hitchcock in the 1979 Disney movie The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. On stage and in movies he was known for being unrecognizable from role to role often with a completely new accent.

If you’re a fan of animation then you’re more familiar with his voice. He was cast as the voice of the Little Mermaidls father King Triton playing him in the original and sequels. He also did voice work for Tale Spin and Dark Wing Duck among many other roles.

Mars died from pancreatic cancer on February 12th. Our condolences to his friends and family.
