- Disney steps up enforcement against teenage loiterers and disrupters at Downtown Disney. This is in response to a perceived general increase in "ganglike" behavior at the shopping and entertainment center. Last weekend over 40 trespass warnings were issued, as many as had been issued in the previous 5 1/2 months. At least one banned individual was found in possession of drugs and a gun.
- The US Mayor’s Association believes that tighter border controls are hurting the US tourism industry and urges congress to take action. Orlando numbers decreased during 2001-2005 and have been flat the last few years. If we loose tourism, what industry does the US have left?
- Disneyland has made available a time-lapse video that shows the 12 months of construction for the new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage attraction. The photos were taken from the top of the Matterhorn, which provides a perfect vantage point. You can also visit the official Disney website for the attraction which includes more behind the scenes video clips!
- David at Mouse Extra follows up on Kevin Yee’s scoop on Disney’s plan for Location Base Entertainment (LBE) with some more details, including how some of this has already been known for a few months. Kevin tells me there is even more interesting details to come on how Disney can leverage even more value out fo the LBE experience.
- If you haven’t heard, there was a horrifying incident at Six Flags Kentucky yesterday where a snapped cable on a boomer tower severed both feet off a 16-year old woman. Failure of maintenance or just a freak accident? I guess we’ll find out. Either way not good.
- Roy Disney continues his love of sailing and is filming a documentary following the youngest team ever to participate in the transpacific yacht race. They recently stopped outside of Carson City, NV to see how the sails are made for the boat.
- TV Squad has a post previewing early cuts of the pilots for ABC’s new fall shows.
- Broke Hoedown is happy that Aardman Animation’s "Shaun The Sheep" will be coming to The Disney Channel. Me Too! After Aardman left dreamworks I had hoped they would find some partnership with Disney.

Thank goodness they’re starting to become more agressive at Downtown Disney on that sort of thing – I can’t say how often I’ve accidentally stumbled upon a drug deal happening there or kids have approached me to buy pot. Really!
I hope Disney promotes Shaun the Sheep. The show is so good.
