Time Warner and Disney Reach Agreement

Your ESPN is safe. Time Warner and Disney has reached an agreement that will keep the Disney owned channels live on the cable system. Additional deals were struck to carry ESPN3.com on broadband and additional video on Demand services.

I can’t think of a single one of these negotiations that wasn’t resolved either before the deadline or shortly there after. Cable and content creators need to sit down with the FCC and members of congress and figure out a new model of content neutrality that still gives cable companies a reasonable profit.

ESPN RISE Games – Thriller Edition

Had a great time at the opening ceremonies of the ESPN RISE Games on Saturday. The crowd and the student athletes were really pumped up for the official launch of the two week event. I think this rendition of Thriller, led by DJ Steve Dunlap, was a great way to get everyone into the spirit.

More on the opening ceremonies later, but I wanted to get out the schedule of events as they’ll be shown on ESPN3.com and ESPNU.
