Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, to be released in Digital 3D!

  • by

There is a relatively new digital film process that takes your typical 2D movie and renders it in 3D. If you saw Chicken Little or Superman Returns in 3D then you’ve seen how effective it is. Disney has decided to re-release Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in this format for this Halloween season. The whole process costs about $10 million a film, so combine that will a like-sized marketing budget and Disney probably has a little off-season money maker. Like Disney’s Chicken Little 3D release you’ll get to keep the themed 3D glasses they handout too. Check your local listings for an October 20th opening.

Accompanying the film release will be a new 2-Disc set of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D Soundtrack. The must have collection will include Danny Elfman’s original score, as well as a second disc featuring covers of the movie’s popular songs by some of today’s hottest artists.  The artists and tracks will include Fall Out Boy ("What’s This?"), Panic! at the Disco ("This Is Halloween"), Marilyn Manson ("This Is Halloween"), Fiona Apple ("Sally’s Song") and She Wants Revenge ("Oogie Boogie’s Song"), as well as two demo versions of Danny Elfman’s "Making Christmas" and "Oogie Boogie’s Song."  The album will be available on October 24, 2006 but you can pre-order it now.

Synopsis info is below the cut and you can download and watch the trailer here.

The next animated feature coming from Disney is Meet The Robinsons. A few more publicity pictures have gone up at Disney-MGM Studios and Animated-News has a few shots of them. Hayao Miyazaki AMPAS Visit

  • by

Apparently Hayao Miyazaki, creator of Studio Ghibli and the academy award winning animated feature Howl’s Moving Castle, was asked to join AMPAS, those folks who hand out the Oscars and then resigned a few weeks later. His reason, he wanted to spend more time on films and less time on academy business. Fair enough. Gedo… Read More »Hayao Miyazaki AMPAS Visit

What’s the fox’s name again?

For some reason I’m never able to remember the names of the characters in Disney’s The Fox and The Hound. It could be because I’ve only seen it once or twice. Well, Kayla’s obviously seen it more often than me cause she’s written a sweet… Read More »What’s the fox’s name again?
