When Disneyland decided to discontinue their annual passholder program, one benefit they left for their biggest fans was a merchandise discount good at select locations throughout Downtown Disney and on Buena Vista Street inside Disney California Adventure.
Although the two Disneyland resort theme park attractions remain shuttered, Downtown Disney and a few areas of Disney California Adventure have opened for shopping and dining.
While the news of the AP program disappearing was sad, many of the new “Legacy Passholder” fans are visiting the resort, so offering a discount is a nice touch.
Star Wars Trading Post
Opened officially on February 19, The Star Wars Trading Post is the new go-to place for all things Star Wars, especially while you can’t visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
With many props and design elements familiar to fans of Black Spire Outpost, the store takes its looks from a hidden jungle Resistance base.
There’s a mix of Star Wars themed merchandise, including goods you would have only been able to buy inside Galaxy’s Edge. Fans of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+ will also find a number of goods, including a Paddy Frog light-up sipper and Child-inspired streetwear collection, including t-shirts, leggings, hats and more.
The special 30% discount is only valid on Monday-Thursday. It was set to expire at the end of February, but it has now been extended through March 11, 2021.
To be a Legacy Passholder, you must have held an active Passport as of March 14, 2020, the date Disneyland closed due to the pandemic.
As a reminder, on days when the 30% savings offer is not available and after this special offer has ended, Annual Passholders who held active Passports as of March 14, 2020 will continue to receive applicable discounts, based on their Passport type, on merchandise and food and beverages at select Downtown Disney District and Buena Vista Street locations until new membership offerings are announced.
We have heard a few rumors about what those new membership offerings might be, but nothing firm has been announced yet. We’ll be sure to post something as soon as we hear about it.
