The Swan Reserve – a new EPCOT area hotel to open this summer!

There’s a brand new hotel opening soon at Walt Disney World. It’s not a Disney owned hotel, it’s a new property in the EPCOT resorts are under the Marriott brand and part of the Swan and Dolphin Hotel & Convention center complex.

When the Swan and Dolphin opened, they were able to brag they had the largest hotel convention space in the Southeast. But the hotels were lacking some of the amenities corporate guests expect from a modern day convention hotel.

Enter the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, a 14-story hotel, offering an upscale and boutique environment.

Intended to offer an intimate and tranquil oasis like no other, the hotel will feature 349 guest rooms, 149 spacious suites and two presidential suites, all lavishly appointed and featuring floor-to-ceiling windows.

The hotel’s suites are aimed at families of 6-8 people or can be used to host clients when attending a convention.

The Swan Reserve is a short walk from both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and right down the street from the shopping and dining district of Disney Springs.

Construction began in 2019 and it was expected to open last year, but we all know what happened to most construction projects during the pandemic.

It is now expected to open in the summer of 2021 and reservations are now being accepted for dates September 1, 2021 and beyond.

The exterior design feels very mid-century modern with hints of googie architecture of the early space age. It does lack some of the clear architectural elements of its sister hotels, and I can understand why that’s turned some people off.

“Guests of the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve will truly have an experience like nothing else, thanks to a location that’s like nowhere else,” said Area General Manager Sean Verney. “With its relaxing atmosphere, 151 well-appointed suites with stunning views, it really is the perfect complement to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, providing even more options to experience a magical getaway.“

Additionally, guests of the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve will have full access to all the amenities at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, including Mandara Spa, five pools, 18 restaurants and lounges, preferred tee times on nearby Disney championship golf courses, four signature restaurants: Shula’s Steak House, Todd English’s bluezoo, Il Mulino and Kimonos and special Disney benefits.

The two original hotels recently completed their own renovations of all public spaces and the rooms themselves.

Fun Fact: The new hotel was originally called The Cove and was meant to represent the body of water shared by the Swan and the Dolphin.
