If you ever join the cast at the Disneyland Resort, don’t miss out on the chance to participate in Minnie’s Moonlit Madness. The after-hours trivia based event features groups of four cast members, all tied together, running around the park in an effort to get the most answers right.
Not only is this a fun event for cast members, but everyone is a winner because Minnie’s Moonlit Madness is also a fundraiser for a local charity. This year Disneyland cast members raised $5,000 to support Girls Inc. or Orange County. Its mission is to inspired girls to be strong, smart, and bold with focused programs such as academic tutoring, advocacy, healthy body image and more.
I was able to participate in a Minnie’s Moonlit Madness event back in the 90s. I was a ton of fun and we came very close to winning (the winning team had the Disney Store’s trivia champion on it, so I didn’t feel too bad about placing second). I will say the costumes some teams wear now add an element of fun.
The first Minnie’s Moonlit Madness was held back in 1989. This year the event took place in Disney’s California Adventure where more than 150 cast member Volunteers set up 43 clue stations around the park. The winning team performed the best on 50 trivia questions ranging from park history to Disney film knowledge. The winning team is expected to be announced any day.
I loved the Minnie’s Moonlit Madness event, but also had a great time on some other cast member fundraisers like the Pirates of the Caribbean 5K, where you rode the attraction over and over again raising money for every lap. Just another way Disneyland Resort supports its cast members while also helping the community.
