Award-winning 4 Rivers Restaurant Group has expanded its food offerings at Walt Disney World with the addition of two new eateries – The Grill by 4 Rivers and The COOP by 4 Rivers. The new food venues expand from two to four the concession venues run by 4 Rivers inside The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which attracts nearly two million athletes, coaches and fans annually for world-class competitions.
The Grill by 4 Rivers is a new concept from the brand inspired by the popular food of America’s classic roadside eateries. The Grill specializes in cooked-to-order items including Angus Cheeseburger, Chili & Cheese Footlong Hot Dog and Corn Dog Nuggets. The Grill also offers a Beyond Burger, which is made using a 100 percent plant-based patty and is served on a vegan friendly bun.
The COOP is a walk-up version of 4 Rivers’ beloved Southern-inspired restaurant located in Winter Park, FL. The new Disney venue is the only other location of The COOP, offering a variety of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, including its famous Chicken Tenders, Signature Grilled and Fried Chicken Sandwiches and Chicken Tender Salad.
The two existing locations are walk-up versions of the 4 Rivers Smokehouse and 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa. All four concession locations will operate only during events being held in The Arena. Another 4 Rivers locations is the Cantina Barbacoa food truck at Disney Springs.
“It’s a tremendous honor to expand the 4 Rivers offerings at Walt Disney World Resort with the debut of The Grill and The COOP at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex,” said John Rivers, 4R Restaurant Group Founder and CEO. “We are proud to offer the athletes and fans that come to this world-class sports destination authentic homestyle cuisine from a local brand during their time here in Central Florida.”
4 Rivers is a central Florida grown restaurant group. It started in 2009 out of a small Winter Park, Fla. that quickly drew large crowds who lined up for some of the delicious barbecue. 4 Rivers Smokehouse specializes in 30-day aged Smoked Angus Brisket and “Homestyle Sides,” as well as bold twists of flavor and ingredient combinations with “John Rivers Originals” and “Fresh Eats” offerings. At the helm is Founder/CEO John Rivers, who strives to support the local community through exceptional products, steadfast customer service and uncompromised integrity.
Back before I switched to a vegan plant-based diet, I was a big fan of 4 Rivers and The Coop. Great food in the southern home cooking style, but elevated enough that you felt it was something special. I’m very happy that the full 4 Rivers restaurant locations now offer a plant-based burnt ends option. can’t wait to try it. Having a beyond burger option at The Grill is a nice touch.
I’m happy that 4 Rivers is expanding at Walt Disney World, unfortunately it’s a venue where the average guest will never really get a chance to enjoy it. That said, if you get a chance to catch an athletic competition inside The Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, be sure to try one of the four food service locations run by 4 Rivers.
