The holidays can be a rough time for many families, even when they’re visiting the Happiest Place on Earth. Walt Disney World is not immune to family tragedy and last night, one nearly happened on the ferryboat from the Magic Kingdom across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel, “a 56-year-old woman jumped from a Walt Disney World ferryboat Monday evening in an apparent suicide attempt.”
The woman was quickly rescued from the water by a patrol boat and taken by authorities to a nearby hospital for evaluation of injuries and mental state.
We will update this story if we get more information, but more importantly, if you or anyone you know is thinking about suicide or showing signs of distress, please call the confidential National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255 or access their 24/7 online chatting service.
It’s sad but thank you for posting the Suicide Prevention Hotline number.
