Two Disneyland resort hotel popular fast casual locations Tangaroa Terrace and White Water Snacks are about to close for some serious upgrades. The project will add new bar seating for pool goers and hotel guests. Construction begins in the next few weeks.
Tangaroa Terrace is the South Seas hideaway themed establishment at the Disneyland Hotel. The ’50s tiki-inspired design will remain, but the location will add a new outdoor bar and a refreshed patio. New interior details include themed light fixtures, a tropical mural, and bamboo accents. The location will also add a window for serving Dole Whip and Coffee selections. When completed the new name will be Tangaroa Terrace, Tropical Bar and Grill.
At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, White Water Snacks will close for its own new look. The new pool bar area will keep the hotel’s signature Arts and Crafts design with natural boulder stonework and clinker bricks. The bar will feature a custom tile mural keeping with the craftsman tone in the new space. In addition a trellis structure will provide guest’s welcome shade to enjoy their beverages and small plates.
So yes, Disneyland is adding or expanding two of it’s popular bars. But hey, who doesn’t need a tall tropical refresher after a long day at the parks?
We can’t wait to see how these projects turn out.
Just seems that management is focusing on teens to 30s with getting rid of kid oriented areas in the parks, especially little kids, and adding more bars. Not to mention shutting down reasonably priced eateries, even “temporarily”. Not what I or my family go to Disneyland for.
