The Disney Blog recently had an opportunity to go backstage and see how Disney’s Youth Programs play an important role in introducing the students of today to the performing arts. If you’ve been to the parks while a high school band marched ahead of the parade or a high school choir performed during the Candlelight Processional or performed as part of a dance competition at one of Disney’s resorts or ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, then you’ve seen the Disney Performing Arts program in action
Dance is an important part of the show everyday at Walt Disney World from parades, to shows, to character performances. Disney integrates the experience of its performers into the workshops and education experience student dancers can enjoy as part of their program. From rehearsing routines lifted right from Disney Parks shows to the chance to meet with professionals, these are once in a lifetime experiences for tomorrows performers.
Here’s a look at exactly what dancers will experience when they visit Disney Performing Arts program.
This is the closest your student will get to feeling what it’s like to be a Cast Member performing for Disney park guests without getting hired first.
Similar programs are available for theatrical arts (including stage management and costuming), instrumental, and vocal performances.
Start planning now for the next school break. Events aren opportunities are available year round, but we’re told that the best programs are available beginning mid-June through September.
